Down Memory Lane In The Old Town
This view is from the old high school field I used to play in for Softball and gym class. I could view my grandparents home from here. It looks like so many trees have grown quite tall and wide since those days. I still walk at the track which is just above this area but I hadn't driven back here in a long time to view it.
This is the view of the Middle School which was Jr. High where I got stuck for a week during the blizzard of 1978. We had to wait until the National Guard could bring us home.
One of the softball fields I used to play on for many years including with my grandfather, sister and cousins before I was old enough to play on the teams. It looked much bigger years ago.

ReplyDeleteOh yes, I remember getting dimes from a teacher for the pay phone to call home. The power was out most of the time and we had cold pizza for breakfast. Whatever else they could find in the cafeteria.
DeleteNice hearing your memories. During the blizzard I was living in Puerto Rico in the sunshine. : ) That's a long time to be stuck at school!
ReplyDeleteLucky for you to have missed it.
DeleteIsn't it kind of funny how some childhood places shrink as we get bigger?
ReplyDeleteYes it is amazing Olga!
