A local Carnivorus Plant Show was in a nearby town and I was amazed at the colors of these bug eating plants
This first Carnivorous Plant was so pretty I had to take a picture of what it was - seen below. Can you pronounce it?
I can't image what this Cornivorous Plant above ate, look how big it is and the brown areas are the bugs or small mammals it ate. You can see one eating a mice on You Tube here.
(I could not watch the end of it!)
(I could not watch the end of it!)
I came home with this Carnivorous Plant above to start my first one growing. I may get more in the future. We have yellow jackets on the deck and I was told this one would eat them up. You cannot water them with your tap water, they need rain or distilled water.
Have you ever grown a Carnivorous Plant before or live near any?
That's a pretty cool plant! Is it sticky? I'd love to have one ride me of my yellow jackets, june bugs, and wasps, however, it might try and eat Titan too! :) hehe
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't feel it to me (the one I got that is) I heard others can cut you. One of the growers got a cut pretty bad from one.
DeleteWOW, this is one of those things that we really don't think about. Very interesting and good looking to.

Yes, it was fascinating...
DeleteGreat post! They're amazing plants indeed. There's this deadly beauty about them that always fascinates me. I've been growing quite a few for almost a decade now. Warning: they can be addicting!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed your pictures and your post. Great stuff. Looking forward to future updates on your plant/s :)
Happy Growing!
Thanks, so yours have survived for years? Hope mine will :) Addicting? Have to see in a year too.
DeleteMy life would love it if I would plant these all over the place. She hates mosquitoes.
ReplyDeleteI almost got those myself...
DeleteWow how interesting. I didn't know there were so many plants that ate different things. I like the one you brought home.
ReplyDeleteHi Happyone, yes I want to see if it will grow bigger. And catch a picture of one eating a yellow jacket.
