The Other Side of the Riverwalk That Was

The other day I went for a walk at the other side of the Riverwalk. You may remember the older post about the Riverwalk that was damaged to the floods of 2 years ago in the area. This side of the Riverwalk was not in much better shape.

This part of the Riverwalk was donated to a former Senator of West Warwick years ago. This part looks nice, right?

You begin the walk and notice branches down everywhere still.

And then there is no where to walk with debris everywhere.

I ended up walking near the soccer fields which used to be the town dump when I was a kid. How things have changed!

There is even a picnic area and swing set. Imagine having a picnic where the old dump used to be? Why hasn't the Riverwalk itself been cleaned up from 2+ years ago?

The area all surrounds the old Mill which is now condominiums. I feel bad for those that bought these condos thinking they had a great place to walk. Maybe someday the old Riverwalk can be restored so people can enjoy a long walk by the scenic river once again.
