A Cold Day At An Old Park

Yesterday was one of the coldest days we had this January. I took a ride through an old park during my lunch and was amazed at the time the geese were having in and near the water. It was interesting to see the trees in winter and being able to see how truly old they are. In the spring and fall with the leaves abound you cannot tell how thick the trunks are.

Can you guess how old these trees may be?

  1. I wouldn't dare try to guess how old the trees are, but they are beautiful even in winter. The park does look cold, but you got some beautiful pictures.

    1. I am curious about them. Would not have noticed in the other seasons with leaves and all. Thanks George!

    1. Thanks Happyone, I thought so too. Someone it just dawned on me when I saw them that I never really looked at them in the winter.

  3. Beautiful pics Lisa! No clue how old the trees are. Are you suppose to count the rings in the stump?

    1. Thanks Brenda, yes, I believe that is how to know the age of the trees. It's fun to guess though too.

  4. Hi Lisa,

How fascinating :) I've been used to come here when I need some nature moments and just got my enrgy back when I see the photos with geese in there.

The tree... Hmm, I guess not more, but nearly 100 years ;) Tada... The answer is? ;)

    Cheers...

    1. I don't have the answer :) I'd love to know. I may research that park and see if there is any time associated with it. We just got more snow today. Hope you are staying warm there.
