A Beach Day During A Heatwave

July 4th week and beaches go together, right? It was a heat wave the past 4 days here and I finally made it to the beach. You can see by the traffic how many others went to the beach as well. I had to show the picture of my sisters friend checking her photos and Facebook - she made her own darkroom with a shirt over her.
I could not wait to get my toes in the sand. It felt good!
And what is a beach day without sandcastles?
I prefer it over the cold April we had or the snowy winter.

Have you been to your local beaches or lakes yet this year?

  1. Hey Lisa,

Seem it's really hot out there :)

The sand looks real whitey. Here we got kinda browny color.

Love the castle too! Is it kids or you + friends? :)

    Cheers...

    1. It sure has been Mayura :) Friends kid. Thought it was very cute and it's more brown at this beach. Other beaches can have a more white like color. Very observant Mayura! Thanks for checking it out.

  2. Hi Lisa,
I agree with Mayura about the sand color. In India it's kind off yellowish/brownish.
looks like you had a great time on the beach, even when the temperature was too high.

  3. There are no beaches near us, which is just as well since we had a very wet, soggy weekend. We had a nice Fourth anyway.

    1. You must have lakes near you George? I think I saw some shots of water from your blog. Thanks for coming by. Hope it's cleared up there.

  4. We avoid the beaches here in the summer like the plague. Way too many tourists and not enough space on the beaches to really enjoy yourself. Looks like you and your friends had a fab time!

    1. I bet near you Bren it must be crowded. Did you go at least once to the beaches there? It was nice and traffic not too bad, we took the back way. I do love the ocean.

    2. I used to go all the time back in my single years but the beaches have become so overcrowded and dirty at that, that it's not even worth it anymore. I'd rather go in the off season.

  6. We escaped to the beach for a while after my air conditioner broke! I just laid in the water the whole time, this heat is too much for me. My friend referred me to this company that installs rental ac units, called Carrier hvac, and I am seriously considering giving them a call.
