Point Judith After Sandy Came To Visit

very old tree at Point Judith
This tree was found at edge of ocean and appeared to be very old

Pt Judith wall
The wall once was very neatly packed with rocks

The parking lot - we were shocked to see a tiny parking lot after #Sandy

The parking lot looked like the moon

You  can see here how small the parking lot became

The gazebo that once held many weddings and special events - No longer

The Point Judith area was especially hit hard and it was amazing to see how much of the parking lot was now all covered by large rocks. It felt like you were walking on the moon crossing the parking lot via foot. You can tell the difference from my visit in June to the Point Judith area how the wall once looked. You can read more about the history of Point Judith here.

Are you still seeing things from Sandy's superstorm?

The Calm Before The Storm

#Sandy's forecast
Today's forecast
The storm has strengthened overnight and the barometric pressure may rival that of the Hurricane of 1938!

I have heard stories for years from my grandparents, parents, aunts and uncles about the 1938 hurricane. Perhaps that's why I'm a weather hound today.

I love Twitter and been following #Sandy and #SandyRI for the latest updates. It is the quickest way to get info.

I hope everyone stays safe during this big storm!

Here are some of the colorful trees that will sure shed their leaves and maybe more with #Sandy approaching in a few days. The latest forecast models has it aiming for us here in New England. This could be an historic storm as described by Jim Cantore as a hurricane within a blizzard. Stay tuned for more photos to come.
