Views on the Lake from a September Day

A Day at the Lake

August did not feel much like summer but September came in hot! I took advantage of an invitation to go on a friend's boat at a local lake. It was even hot on the lake in the sun. In the shade you could cool off some. That's what this turtle appears to be doing in the last photo.

Several years ago on this date we were dealing with Hurricane Irene. It seems none are heading this way this year.

How has September started where you live?

The Winter Snow and Cold in New England

snow covered reservoir
A beautiful view around the reservoir.

big snow flakes
Big snowflakes came down one day a few weeks ago very quickly.

snow at the track
The Track where I thought I was going for a walk one morning. It was not covered at my house but just a few miles away it was.

Snowing gif image
Loving the GIF images that Google Plus now turns photos into.

This winter has brought some snow and very cold weather. February tends to have the most snow each year. You may remember last year's blizzard in February here. By this time of the year many people start to get tired of the snow - having to deal with very cold weather, shoveling and moving around in snow covered roads and sidewalks.

If you use Google Plus your photo's taken by an Android phone now may become GIF images - there is no knowing which images will turn to GIF but if they have movement like snow falling it happens about in 1 out of 2 photos. Do you like the GIF images? If you have an iPhone does it work with them as well?

Are you ready for more snow this winter or have you had enough in your area?

You may have noticed me MIA from here lately, you can read more here at my other blog on why.

Fall Officially Arrives

It was a beautiful day here in southern New England to usher in Autumn though it did start out with some rain. You can see from a friend's blog in Vermont it was quite foggy there. As you can see below it cleared up quite nicely around here.

Love how the clouds appears here too and it is so hard to get pictures without wires.

Just a beautiful day!

Can you see the mill's reflection in this photo?

I played with the camera settings once again so I believe you will be able to click on the images above and see them larger.

It won't be long before the pumpkins are everywhere and the temperature's plunge here.
Are you ready?

The View From a Small Airport

I noticed this last week on the last day of winter driving by. What beautiful views they were from a small little local airport.  It was like you could see for miles.

And the day when Spring arrived - we started with snow.

It seems the snow will never stop falling this year.

Has Spring really arrived where you are now?

Gorgeous Flowers in the City

The end of August has some beautiful flowers blooming in the city. I try to get out on my lunch to view them and relax for a little bit of time.
Do you see flowers in your city?

Some Days The Clouds Don't Go Away

Lately we have lots of rain of some storminess in Southern New England - the last photo is of the city with all the lights on as it was so dark during a fierce thunderstorm.

The Peony Is About to Burst Open

I can now smell the peony as it's about to burst open. I am fascinated by this plant as it only lasts a short time once it fully blooms.

Pretty Orange Flowers

These orange flowers just jumped out at me yesterday during my walk. Any idea what they are called?
These pink and white ones are pretty too, which are your favorite?

The Beginning of Peony Blooms

Peonies are my favorite flowers and the bloom on them does not last long. They are just starting now to get ready to bloom.

And the day prior it looks like this:
