The Mountains of New Hampshire in Snow

New Hampshire Covered in Snow in December

We haven't much now this winter in New England like last year's winter season. I had the opportunity to go to New Hampshire in December and see the mountains covered in snow.
It was very pretty and the air was crisp and cold. Most of New Hampshire tends to get over 50" of snow each winter season and areas in Northern New Hampshire get well over a 100" of fresh snow.
Have you had much snow in your region this winter so far?  If not are you missing it?

The Winter Snow and Cold in New England

snow covered reservoir
A beautiful view around the reservoir.

big snow flakes
Big snowflakes came down one day a few weeks ago very quickly.

snow at the track
The Track where I thought I was going for a walk one morning. It was not covered at my house but just a few miles away it was.

Snowing gif image
Loving the GIF images that Google Plus now turns photos into.

This winter has brought some snow and very cold weather. February tends to have the most snow each year. You may remember last year's blizzard in February here. By this time of the year many people start to get tired of the snow - having to deal with very cold weather, shoveling and moving around in snow covered roads and sidewalks.

If you use Google Plus your photo's taken by an Android phone now may become GIF images - there is no knowing which images will turn to GIF but if they have movement like snow falling it happens about in 1 out of 2 photos. Do you like the GIF images? If you have an iPhone does it work with them as well?

Are you ready for more snow this winter or have you had enough in your area?

You may have noticed me MIA from here lately, you can read more here at my other blog on why.

The Snow That Was in Southern New England From Hercules

The storm Hercules did not leave us a lot of snow like others in Massachusetts had received. We got a good 6-8" of snow around this area. I felt like I was driving all alone to work that morning and the city streets were the worst for not being plowed well.
Of course what followed was a steep drop in temperatures. It plunged to -5 overnight.  It did give us more snow than we had received in December. It looks like it may not stay around for long as temperatures are expected to hit the 40's with rain in the coming days.

Did the storm Hercules bring you more snow in your area?
How low did your temperatures go?

The View From a Small Airport

I noticed this last week on the last day of winter driving by. What beautiful views they were from a small little local airport.  It was like you could see for miles.

And the day when Spring arrived - we started with snow.

It seems the snow will never stop falling this year.

Has Spring really arrived where you are now?

The White Stuff Is Prettier Near Blue Skies

What a difference a few hours makes when the sun arises and you can see the snow in the sunlight and blue skies above. Even the birds were out enjoying the snow. The total snowfall ended up at 8".

Can you tell what happened in this last picture?

The Last Snowfall of 2012 in Southern New England

This video was made for +Mayura De Silva  who has been asking to see it snowing since in his area of the world they do not have snow. Also +Brenda Lee who cannot wait to see her first snow of the season too. Enjoy!

This is the first daylight peek at what pilled up overnight as the sun is trying to come up. Since it's 24 degrees there will be have more time for snow taking photos later today after show shoveling. This snow will not melt fast with temps only reaching 33 degrees today. Missing summer already.

According to AccuWeather we got around 8" of the white stuff this time around.

Do you really want snow now?

Some Grand Views

Grand views as I promised....

Could not believe we saw snow on the way and in the Grand Canyon in mid April.

It's amazing how you can see more through the camera than being actually there sometimes...

New England - Where Weather Changes Quickly!

This was the scene 2 days ago when we had a little snow - very little for the entire winter here in Southern New England.

And this was the scene today going for a walk - with no more snow.  If you don't like the weather here, just wait a few minutes and it does change.

It was a winter wonderland today with temps in the low 20's all day. It had to finally arrive. Just a little late this season.

December Snowflake

This is the first snowflakes we've seen since the October snow.

Can you see the snowflake?
It is not easy chasing snowflakes for a picture when they are few and far between!

October Snow and Ice

We received more ice than snow in central Rhode Island from this early Nor'easter

Many folks did lose power in the area

Some trees didn't get any ice and it still look like it's fall
